For the first time in STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Series history, the Original Extreme Sport was held in Chicago. The U.S. Pro and Collegiate Championship was performed at Tinley Park Convention Center.
This past year the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Series celebrated its 30th Anniversary by hosting the U.S. Championship in NYC, which proved to be a success again as the premier event in professional lumberjack sports. The Series has no intention of slowing down, as 2016 is already shaping up to be another great year.
The 11th annual STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® World Championship takes place in Poznan, Poland on November 13-14. The Congress Center in the historic capital of Greater Poland is expected to see more than 100 athletes from over 20 nations and about 7,000 spectators, similar to the 2014 World Championship in Innsbruck, Austria.

The STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series has long been dominated by veteran axemen. Athletes like Mel Lentz (nicknamed “The King of the Lumberjacks”), Arden Cogar, Jr. and Dave Jewett have won or finished near the top of the U.S. Championship standings for decades.

The 2014 STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® U.S. Pro Championship took place on June 21 at the Norfolk Scope Arena. Diana, W.Va native, Matt Cogar won the title for the second straight year in a row.
