Created Equal
While STIHL blowers are simple to operate, not every application is as straightforward. Depending on the debris, weather conditions and what you hope to accomplish, it’s important that you not only have the right blower for the job, but you have equipped that blower with the proper nozzle as well.
Two Main Types of Nozzles
While there are various attachments you can purchase for your STIHL blower for niche tasks such as cleaning gutters or vacuuming*, for more typical blowing jobs, you’ll find that you either need a flat nozzle or a round nozzle. Knowing when to use which nozzle can save you time and energy.
*Gutter cleaning and vacuum attachments are only compatible with gas blowers.
Round Nozzles
STIHL blowers typically come equipped with the round nozzle, establishing it as the standard nozzle for general blowing tasks. The round nozzle offers greater air volume than the flat nozzle, allowing it to cover more area. This makes it ideal for debris that are considered loose and not stuck to the surface.
Flat Nozzle
When the job demands higher air speed, flat nozzles are essential. Flat nozzles offer higher MPH ratings, which equates to stronger air speed. This makes flat nozzles ideal for situations where debris is heavier or stuck to an object or surface.
It’s Good to Have Options
While you may think only one nozzle type is all you need, you can never predict how weather or other circumstances beyond your control can alter your blowing needs. By having both the round and flat nozzles, you are prepared for almost any blowing task that comes your way.
